RIP Geoffrey Hughes

When I heard the news of the death of Geoffrey Hughes, I was a little heart broken. I've been bought up watching Keeping Up Appearances, I could probably recite each episode, word for word. I honestly believe that Geoffrey Hughes' character was the centre of comedy within the show, always with the funniest lines, and they were always so well delievered. Safe to say, he is going to be missed.

Summer is officially here!

So it finally looks like summer is here! The time of year when everyone has a BBQ, gets the sun cream on and enjoys a lovely glass of Pimms in the sun. Well, that isn't the case for everybody ....

I for one, absolutely hate this time of year. The clammy heat,  sweating, and getting zero sleep because it's TOO HOT! I'd definitely much rather be cuddled up, on the sofa, in a hoodie, with my slippers on, a cup of hot chocolate, my duvet and a good film. Bring on winter! :o)

So instead of being out in the sun, I'm going to be staying in, with a bottle of chilled Volvic strawberry water (my current addiction), with the back door open, party planning and catching up on some TV.

Happy Summer to you all!

Neglect

Recently I've been completely neglecting my blog (sorry, I still love you!) I've just been so busy,

I'm trying to organise a surprise 50th birthday party for my mum and uncle, which, as easy as it sounds, is turning out to a A LOT harder than I first thought. I'm an only child, and with having such a small immediate family, I've found myself trying to do this all on my own. The first wall I hit was the date. I found the perfect venue, for the day after their birthday! I'd need to spend the day decorating the venue, but my uncle then explained a few days later how he is planning to get tickets for us to go to Norwich vs Fulham, so that option was off the cards! So I've now had to settled for a hall for the weekend before, which is 6 days before their birthday, so I guess they won't see it coming :).

I want to make all the cakes myself, so that's 150 cupcakes and a Bon Jovi Have A Nice Day cake (the above picture) I have to try and make witthout them knowing! So I've  decided the theme is going to be black, red, and white. My friends friend is going to make a big balloon arch, 2 balloon towers and blow up all the helium balloons I need for just £60! A bargain if you ask me :o)

(All above images taken from Treely Scrumptious Treats)

I've also recently come across 'Sweet Trees', and it's safe to say I'm completely and utterly fascinated by them! I plan on attempting to make several (several being 8 or 10) for table centrepieces, then guests can sit, have a drink and a couple of sweets :)! The above pictures are just a few of many examples of some of the amazing  things you can do with the right type of sweet!

It's safe to say I am looking forward to getting everything sorted for it!

Weight loss

From the age of 8 I was bullied about my size. Always being labelled "the fat kid" gave my confidence one hell of a bashing. This continued up until I was 18/19 years old, but still, now, my confidence is as low as ever.

I find it so hard to lose weight. On so many occasions I have tried, but I guess just not enough! I know that eating well and making your own meals is a good start, but with being unemployed, I can't afford to buy all the ingredients needed for every meal that I would need. Neither do I have the confidence to join a gym and have all the skinny, fit people around me mocking me :(

My point is, is it possible to lose weight, by just simply exercising daily, and cutting down on things like chocolate etc, and not eating salads and healthy meals 24/7?

I'm 21, and I must weigh around 15st, I NEED to lose weight, not for anyone else, but for myself.

Does anyone have any healthy meal ideas that are not too expensive and any workouts they would recommend?

Happy blogging!

Motivation

I've recently come back from a lovely holiday in Cancun, Mexico (post to follow!), so I've had a lot of catching up to do, with friends, familiy, TV, and of course my favourite facebook pages.

Most of my favourite facebook groups/pages are of course cupcake and cake making related. Over the last few months, I've been taking cake making a lot more seriously than in the past, then one day, I found myself stuck, so I took to the internet for some answers.

After an extensive search on google, I came across Cupcake Talk, a page where thousands of keen bakers and business woman go for tips about their current creations, or even just to show off their latest work. I have to say, I cannot go a day without checking it and reading through over peoples theories, even if they may not be relevant to me at the minute, they always come in handy for the future!

Also, while scanning through my facebook news feed, I came across these beautiful cakes and cupcakes. Seeing pictures like these give me the motivation I need in order to get my business up and running!
